Presence of a high arch in individuals will cause a lot of pain and stress on their feet. Heel Spurs are causes for great pain in the heels in all forms of physical activity involving feet and legs. Pes Cavus, defined as foot having an abnormally high medical medial longitudinal arch. High arched feet are the opposite of '˜flat feet'. These are often called stability or motion control shoes. Normal feet are best suited with neutral-cushioning and stability shoes which offer low-to-moderate stability with cushioning and higher flexbility. High-arched feet are better off with flexible, highly cushioned shoes for impact absorption. Generally, your choice in walking shoes should have low and stable heels and generous toe room. Motion control shoes are for people with extra weight. This shoe type gives excellent support but has a thicker, more stable heel. Stability shoes are for people with normal or average feet. These shoes have great combinations of cushioning and support. Cushioned shoes give extra comfort for people with high arches. Sports shoes should not be too tight or too loose. There are shoes, such as the Nike Free and Vibram Five Fingers that may be used to either ease people in to running barefoot or providing protection if an environment is just too dangerous to run in while barefoot. My recommendation is to give it a try on a controlled surface, such as a rubberized track, and see how you do. Barefoot runners will say that such a surface is not good and a smooth concrete surface is best. Running barefoot will provide a very significant change in mechanics, so you need to ease into it. Shifting from shoes to barefoot running to quickly will expose you to injury. There are those, however, who should not even attempt barefoot running. People with a flat foot, or very low arches, tend to overpronate. The pishtaq arches around the building, have intricate calligraphy, bas-relief and inlaid decorations. We do not generally need to use our core and lower back very regularly, due to our sedentary lifestyles. Proper squat technique starts with the feet placed slightly wider than shoulders-width apart. But a serious condition occurs if the sugars are out of control and a lesion (sore or ulcer) develops on the plantar (bottom) of the foot. The goal and treatment of diabetics with foot ulcers is to relieve the pressure, prevent infection and ultimately ensure the patient does not lose their limb. It is important that a patient with a foot ulcer consult their podiatrist, vascular surgeon, orthopedist or family doctor. But people with a flat foot or the opposite condition, a highly arched foot, that are painful, are certainly in need of treatment.
